The Swan is a CLC Light Craft “Wood Duckling 8” built over a two week period by 9 year-old McKenzie Kaufman and her grandfather Charles McParland of Tega Cay, SC. She was launched on August 6th on Lake Wylie in South Carolina.

Floridian Mark Nye recently built and launched this 14′ long Petrel Play kayak. Mark spent just under 135 hours, spread over five months,on the construction of this stitch-and-glue kit. He stained some of the hull pieces prior to construction of highlight the hull’s puzzle joints.
I’ve been building this auk for the last five years in my garage. The idea was that I would learn how to build a boat with this one and then move onto something a little larger, but I am not too sure how my wife will take to the news that I’m starting another one.
Launched 18 May, 2015 at Spruce Head, Maine. Fannie Salter is a 23′ Cedar Key Sharpie built to a modified Reuel Parker Design White pine on white oak with copper and stainless fasteners. She will be Cat Ketch rigged 172sq. ft. sail area 10.5′ oar.

Modified Doug Hylan Beach Pea, built from Meranti plywood as a tender for our Gartside/Jespersen yawl, “La Vie en Rose”. Storage/flotation compartments have been installed under the stern sheets using the water-tight hatch kits from Port Townsend Watercraft.
Newfound Woodworks of Bristol, New Hampshire was the source for this Adirondack Guide Boat kit built by Michael Cruden of Ballston Spa, New York.
John Laudano Jr. of Middletown, Connecticut, designed and built this 61″ model runabout, with some help from his dad, over the winter of 2014–2015. SAUNDRA MAE has sapele planking on plywood frames. John made the windscreen, steering wheel, and fittings from scrap aluminum.
This is my 18′ Carolina dory. Materials are from local lumber yards except for the bronze screws. This was a fun project, the plans from Spira International were easy to read and the boat gets plenty of compliments.
